6 Common Types of Auto Window Tinting & Their Benefits

Window tinting is a great way to keep excess light out of a room while also providing the people inside privacy. With this goal in mind, there are several different types of window tinting that people can choose from.

1. Dye Window Tinting

For those who are on a tight budget, this is the window tinting to go with. There are multiple layers of dye that are used to keep out the sunlight for a low price. The dye absorbs the heat from the sun, which can also keep the space cool; however, other types of tinting can be more effective.

2. Metalized Window Tinting

A metal window tinting helps to filter out heat by reflecting it. Instead of using a dye, this type of tinting uses small metal particles to block out the sun. These particles are invisible to the naked eye and embedded within the film itself. Furthermore, this type of window tint also makes it stronger by making it more shatter-resistant. It also reduces the glare and reflects UV radiation.

3. Hybrid Window Tinting

In this type of window tinting, a combination of both of the prior methods is used to reflect heat, light, and radiation. A common hybrid is titanium metal with a gray-colored dye. This type of window tinting takes the benefits of both methods to make it not too reflective while also providing some privacy.

4. Carbon Window Tint Film

In this form of tinting, there is a unique matte-finish that makes these windows look stylish. There is a carbon content that blocks the radiation responsible for warming up the inside. Therefore, this also prevents the upholstery from fading too quickly.

5. Crystalline Tinting

For those who want to tint the windows without making them too dark, this is the tint to go with. A crystalline tint blocks out the UV radiation and solar heat without making the inside of the space too dark. From the inside, it looks like there is no tint at all.

6. Ceramic Window Tinting

A ceramic tint film is a high-quality option for window tinting. The ceramic particles are known for their nonconductive nature. This is a new tint that has been proven to block out a large amount of solar heat without obstructing visibility.
